Justin Fields, Jets Held Secret Player-Led Practice on Sunday, Aaron Glenn Attended
The New York Jets held a secret practice on Sunday that was completely led by the players and didn't include any coaches or media, outside of head coach Aaron Glenn, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.
The players ran the drills and called their own plays, with Justin Fields leading the offense and middle linebacker Jamien Sherwood helming the defense.
The players seemed to enjoy the experience.

"[Glenn] said this is something he envisions his team being, a player-driven team," safety Andre Cisco told Cimini.
"The great teams are the player-led teams," nickel corner Michael Carter II added. "... We got a chance to go out and prove it for the first time."
It was certainly a novelty for much of the roster, even if the team classified it as a walkthrough. Practices must be open to the media, but walkthroughs are permitted to be closed.
"It was personally different for me because I've never experienced that—having no coaches out there," cornerback Brandon Stephens said. "It was great for us to lead the groups by ourselves."
The Jets haven't had a winning season since 2015 and haven't reached the playoffs since 2010. It's clear that major changes are needed, and Glenn seems keen on bringing about a cultural shift. But everything ultimately falls on the players to produce on the field and take accountability, and the team's "secret" practice seemed aimed at fostering that mindset.
