FedEx Cup Standings 2025, Points Leaderboard Before TOUR Championship

Joe TanseyAug 20, 2025

The winner of the FedEx Cup will be determined in a different manner than previous seasons.

The top 30 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings are still participating in the Tour Championship, but the PGA Tour's final postseason event has new rules.

The No. 1 golfer, in this case Scottie Scheffler, no longer starts multiple strokes ahead of the field.

Scottie Scheffler owns a massive edge in the FedEx Cup standings after his triumph at the BMW Championship.

However, that doesn't mean anything going into the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club.

The leader after 72 holes of play at the Tour Championship will not only win the event, but the FedEx Cup as well.

In previous years, the leader of the FedEx Cup standings received a starting score of 10-under and the rest of the players had staggered starting scores after that.

That format is now in the past and all 30 golfers begin the final postseason event with the same score of even-par.

Scheffler is obviously still the favorite to win the event. He is having one of the best seasons in PGA Tour history and is coming off a win at the BMW Championship.

Scheffler's toughest competition might be himself. He's in a whole different stratosphere compared to the rest of the field.

But anything can happen across four rounds and starting with the same score levels the playing field so that anyone can have a fantastic week and take home the FedEx Cup and the $10 million prize that comes with it.
