The Sky were tied with the Storm after the opening quarter but a strong second quarter gave Seattle a 12-point lead. Seattle extended the lead in the third quarter but the Sky did make a push in the final quarter that just came up a bit short.
Despite the loss, the return of Reese was a major positive for the Sky. In addition to her 19 points, she also added seven rebounds, four assists and a block. She shot 9-of-13 and logged 26 minutes in her return from injury.
Other notables for Chicago included Ariel Atkins, who also had 19 points, and Kia Nurse, who had 13 points. Kamilla Cardoso and Elizabeth Williams also reached double figures with 10 points each.
Seattle was led by Skylar Diggins, who had 24 points and six assists. She shot 7-of-11 overall and 3-of-6 from three-point range.
Other notables for Seattle included Nneka Ogwumike, who had 21 points, Dominique Malonga, who had 15, Brittney Sykes, who had 12 and Ezi Magbegor, who had 11.
Chicago falls to 8-26 with the loss while Seattle improves to 18-18. A Washington Mystics win would have eliminated Chicago, but the Mystics' loss to the Connecticut Sun kept the Sky's playoff hopes alive for a little bit longer.
