Timothy RappAug 19, 2025

Call of Duty also dropped a developer direct with more information about the upcoming release.

Black Ops 7 will include a campaign that can be played solo or with up to four players, and will also have "Endgame as part of the Co-Op Campaign, where Avalon opens up for players as they wield personalized abilities and face unexpected challenges, putting everything they’ve mastered throughout the story to the test."

Longtime Black Ops characters David Mason and Raul Menendez will return as part of the campaign's narrative as well.

But Call of Duty persists as a gaming franchise on the back of its PVP offerings, and this year's game will include 16 6v6 maps on launch and "next-level Omnimovement, including Wall Jumps and more, [which] open-up creative possibilities and fresh dynamics to gameplay."

The game will also include 20v20 mode Skirmish that will have two maps on launch.

And of course there will be weapons, with 30 new ones at launch and 16 that are entirely new to the Call of Duty franchise. Weapon Prestige will also return, while "Scorestreaks, Field Upgrades, and Equipment can be upgraded using the brand-new Overclock System, meaning more than just your weapons will grow more versatile the more you use them."

Finally, Round-Based Zombies will make its return, alongside survival maps and Dead Ops Arcade 4.
