NFL GM Doesn't Think Eagles Are Done Making Trades After John Metchie Deal with Texans
The Philadelphia Eagles could remain active on the trade market after reportedly acquiring wide receiver John Metchie III in a deal with the Houston Texans on Sunday.
"Don’t think Eagles are done with trades," an AFC general manager told NFL insider Jordan Schultz. "They have so many picks next year and that team is always gonna be aggressive."
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Tim McManus, the Eagles sent tight end Harrison Bryant and a fifth-round draft pick to the Texans in exchange for Metchie and a sixth-round pick.

Metchie will operate in a depth role for Philadelphia after leaving a crowded group of receivers in Houston. He's caught 40 passes for 412 yards and one touchdown throughout his two years in the NFL.
Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has been active heading into the regular season before, acquiring wide receiver Jahan Dotson in an Aug. 2024 trade with the Washington Commanders.
Philadelphia is armed with future assets to make more moves, as the team is projected to have 13 picks in the 2026 NFL draft (h/t Glenn Erby of Eagles Wire).
The defending Super Bowl champions are already viewed as one of the top threats to contend for the Lombardi Trophy once again, and they might not be done with trades despite adding Metchie.
