Baltimore Orioles first baseman Coby Mayo paid homage to the Florida Panthers' consecutive Stanley Cup victories in 2024 and 2025 with his cleats during MLB Players' Weekend.

"So for Players' Weekend, my close friends and family know how much I love the Florida Panthers," Mayo explained. "Obviously winning back-to-back Stanley Cups, thought it would be a cool idea to get some custom Florida Panthers Stanley Cup cleats. Obviously my whole life I've been a huge fan and just think it would be kind of cool to represent a part of me that not everyone knows."

The 23-year-old grew up in Coral Springs, Florida, near the Panthers' home at Amerant Bank Arena.

They've been dominant throughout the past two years, owning a record of 131-70-10 including the playoffs over that span. Florida won its first Stanley Cup by defeating the Edmonton Oilers in five games before taking down the Oilers once again during the 2025 season, winning the final in six games.

MLB Players' Weekend started on Friday and will run through Sunday, giving players an opportunity to use personalized bats and cleats during regular-season games.

As for Mayo, the rookie has recorded five home runs and 19 RBI in 49 appearances this season while slashing .211/.291/.373. He's made improvements at the plate recently, owning a .778 OPS over his past 20 games.
