Jaxson Dart Praised as Giants' Future at QB After Impressive Preseason Game vs. Jets
Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants looked dominant during Saturday’s preseason matchup against the New York Jets, as the rookie quarterback continues to build his case as a potential cornerstone for the franchise’s future.
The 2025 first-round pick threw for 137 yards on 14-of-16 completions with two touchdowns, continuing to impress Giants fans with another strong performance. It marked back-to-back standout games for the 22-year-old quarterback, who is quickly gaining momentum in the preseason.
Building off his NFL debut last Saturday, Dart passed for 154 yards and one touchdown on 12-of-19 completions in the Giants’ 34-25 win over the Buffalo Bills. He also added three carries for 24 yards after entering in the first quarter for veteran Russell Wilson.

Through two preseason appearances, Dart has completed 74 percent of his passes for 291 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions — a promising start for the rookie quarterback.
Giants fans took to social media to praise the young quarterback, who is competing on a crowded roster and beginning to show a bright future at the position for the team.
Dart exploded in the third quarter, opening with a nearly four-minute drive capped by a 20-yard touchdown pass to Greg Dulcich. He later added a second score midway through the quarter on a one-yard quarterback sneak.
ESPN’s depth chart currently lists veteran Wilson as the Giants’ starting quarterback, with fellow veteran Jameis Winston as the backup and Dart in the third-string spot. However, with back-to-back strong preseason performances, Dart may be climbing the depth chart sooner than expected.
The Giants and Dart will wrap up their preseason next Saturday at home against the New England Patriots.
