"The surgery went well, and he's in great spirits," LaFleur told reporters Thursday. "He's here with us, so yeah. It's just about putting in the work to get the thumb rehabbed."
LaFleur also revealed that the team anticipates "some sort of participation" from Love in practice "next week."
The quarterback recently underwent a procedure to address a left thumb injury that he suffered while getting sacked in the first quarter of Green Bay's 30-10 preseason loss to the New York Jets on Saturday.
Love attempted to play through the issue in practice on Monday before ultimately choosing surgery, per ESPN's Rob Demovsky.
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst doesn't anticipate the signal-caller missing any regular-season time, though.
Love his preparing to enter his fifth year in Green Bay and his third season as the team's full-time starter. He completed 63.1 percent of his throws for 3,389 yards and 25 touchdowns compared to 11 interceptions during his 2024 campaign.
Love has been relatively durable during his tenure as the Packers' starter under center, appearing in 32 of a possible 34 regular-season contests over that span.
He doesn't seem to be in serious danger of missing Week 1 after LaFleur provided a positive update on his recovery.
