Myles Garrett's Speeding Citation Called 'Extremely Disappointing' by Browns HC
Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said it was "extremely disappointing" to learn that star defensive end Myles Garrett had been cited for driving 100 miles per hour in a 60 mph zone last weekend.
"It's been addressed with Myles, with the football team. He needs to slow down for his safety and the safety of others," Stefanski told reporters on Wednesday.
When asked if the Browns had disciplined Garrett for the citation, Stefanski answered, "I'll keep everything internal."

The citation took place at 2:01 a.m. in Strongsville, Ohio, on Saturday morning, ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi reported. Garrett was issued a $250 fine as part of the citation, which he can pay to avoid a Thursday court appearance.
The incident took place between Friday night's preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, during which Garrett was resting, and his attendance at the resumption of training camp on Monday morning.
WKYC's Phil Trexler and Bri Buckley previously reported that Garrett had been cited for speeding "at least seven times" between 2017 and 2022.
Those include citations on consecutive days in 2021, when Garrett was cited for driving 120 miles per hour one day before he was cited for going 105 miles per hour, per Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal.
He was also cited for failure to control his vehicle after he and a passenger were involved in a single-car crash in 2022. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said in a statement after the incident that Garrett was going an "unsafe speed for the type of roadway" he was driving on.
Garrett suffered a left shoulder sprain, right biceps strain and other cuts and bruises after his car flipped over during the 2022 crash, per ESPN's Jake Trotter.
After announcing in February that he had requested a trade from the Browns, Garrett agreed to a four-year extension worth $40 million per year in March.
He isn't the only Browns player who has received a citation for speeding this offseason. Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was cited twice in Ohio this June for exceeding the posted speed limit by at least 25 miles per hour.
