Fantasy Football 2025 Updated Mock Draft and Mobile Cheat Sheet

Kristopher KnoxAug 12, 2025

With one week of NFL preseason action in the books, we have a clearer picture of the 2025 fantasy landscape. While there's still plenty we don't know—like who will start at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints—we have a better understanding of who is healthy, who is entering a new role and who is set to shine.

Now's a great time to examine an updated mock draft and provide some updated rankings based on the latest developments and intel, which is precisely what we'll do here.

We'll dive into the most interesting picks of a 12-team point-per-reception (PPR) mock conducted with FantasyPros' Mock Draft Simulator before laying out an updated positional cheat sheet.

Mock Draft Analysis

2 of 3
Bengals Eagles Football
Eagles RB Saquon Barkley

This was a fairly straightforward PPR mock with few surprises at the very top. Ja'Marr Chase has been trending as the top overall choice all summer, and he did nothing in the Cincinnati Bengals' preseason opener to suggest he shouldn't be.

Chase, Joe Burrow and other Bengals starters played against the Philadelphia Eagles last week. Chase caught four passes for 77 yards and a touchdown in limited action.

The only real surprise in Round 1 was seeing Eagles running back Saquon Barkley fall to 11th. Of course, there are reasons why Barkley may be trending down after last year's 2,283-yard season.

For one, Barkley saw 378 touches in the regular season and another 104 touches during the playoffs. That's a massive workload that makes Barkley ripe for a 2025 decline. Secondly, the Eagles might not feature an offensive line quite as potent as last year's incarnation.

Guard Mekhi Becton departed in free agency, while fellow guard Landon Dickerson is dealing with a knee injury—though he does hope to return by Week 1.

"He’s considered week-to-week, with the goal of being available to begin the regular season," NFL Media's Ian Rapoport posted on X.

Round 2 featured few surprises, though it did feel early for the first quarterback to come off the board. Of course, Lamar Jackson did lead all players in fantasy scoring last season.

It's worth pointing out that San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle was the second tight end off the board, ahead of Trey McBride. Kittle had been TE3 fairly consistently in mocks I've examined, but he could be primed for a major role in San Francisco's offense, which makes a rising stock unsurprising. Jauan Jennings is still dealing with a calf injury, and head coach Kyle Shanahan recently confirmed that Brandon Aiyuk won't be back by Week 1.

It was a tad surprising to see Tee Higgins going ahead of Davante Adams and Terry McLaurin in Round 3, largely because the Bengals wideout has battled soft-tissue injuries in recent years. Of course, the Los Angeles Rams aren't sure how healthy Matthew Stafford (back) will be early in the year, while McLaurin's contract standoff with the Washington Commanders continues.

Round 4 feels low for Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideout Mike Evans, though rookie Emeka Egbuka could be poised to steal some of his targets this year. The Ohio State product flashed with a 21-yard reception in Tampa's preseason opener, but he'll likely spend the early season filling in for Chris Godwin as the Bucs' No. 2 receiver.

The fourth round also feels a tad high for Los Angeles Chargers running back Omarion Hampton, who will likely split time with free-agent addition Najee Harris—once Harris returns from an eye injury.
