Can Pennsylvania Make It 2-0 In Little League World Series Play?
5 of 5
The Little League Softball World Series wrapped up Sunday in Greenville, North Carolina with West Suburban LL out of Johnstown, Pennsylvania defeating the squad from Floyds Knobs, Indiana to claim the championship.
That team gave up one run the entire tournament, displaying the expert pitching and excellent defense that led them to a championship victory in its first appearance in the tournament.
With the focus of the Little League turning toward Williamsport, where the home state heroes out of Upper Uwchlan Township will attempt to continue the Keystone State's winning ways.
It will not be easy as Pennsylvania has not won the LLWS since 1960.
Add to that the wealth of talent on the international side of the bracket and you have an uphill battle for the Glenmoore Eagles Little League team. With that said, the team is unbeaten in LLWS tournament play to this point so perhaps, with the motivation of the state's softball counterparts victory, perhaps they can continue their winning ways and hoist the trophy come August 24.
