Browns vs. Panthers Betting Odds, Player Props and Picks for Shedeur Sanders' Debut
The Cleveland Browns are a six-point underdog in Shedeur Sanders' NFL debut on Friday against the Carolina Panthers.
Friday provides the first test for Sanders after his tumble in the 2025 NFL draft. He is fighting for a spot on the depth chart with a wide collection of quarterbacks.
Sanders and his teammates will try to turn around a wretched preseason record for the Browns franchise. Cleveland has two wins in its last 10 preseason contests.
Shedeur Sanders To Throw a TD (+105)
Shedeur Sanders will have an ample amount of series to drive the Browns' offense down the field.
The Colorado product was initially listed as the No. 4 quarterback on the depth chart, but injuries led to his preseason start and the signing of Tyler Huntley as his backup.
Sanders is expected to play an extended role under center, which you would think leads to at least one or two scoring opportunities.
The +105 price to throw a touchdown is worth a look because of how much time Sanders will spend on the field.
Even if he doesn't get going right away, there's a chance the prop cashes with a two-minute drill that suits him better.
Panthers (-6)
The Browns are 2-7-1 in their last 10 preseason games.
Some of the games have been close, but last year's trio of contests didn't go so well for the Browns. They had a pair of double-digit defeats and a four-point loss in Seattle.
Cleveland's limitations at quarterback could come back to haunt it late in the game. Huntley is an experienced signal-caller, but he's had limited time in the system since he was signed.
The Panthers are 1-5 in their last six preseason games, but the difference on Friday will be Bryce Young's presence. Carolina can score early behind its No. 1 quarterback and ride that margin throughout the game.
Panthers Team Total Over 16.5 Points (-175)
Two touchdowns and a field goal seem like a reasonable goal for the Carolina offense.
Young and 2025 first-round pick Tetairoa McMillan will be on the field to start the game, which is where most of Carolina's points should come from.
Cleveland's defense allowed at least 23 points in all three of its preseason games a year ago.
While it's a small sample size so far, the first four preseason winners in 2025 all scored at least 17 points.
