Jags' Trevor Lawrence on Travis Hunter's Role, 'Selfishly, I Want Him on Offense More'

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a star capable of playing on both sides of the ball in Travis Hunter, but quarterback Trevor Lawrence is hoping most of his snaps come on the offensive end.

"He's so talented, man, it's hard to keep him off the field," Lawrence said (2:10 mark). "Selfishly, I definitely want him on offense more. It's almost like, 'Do you wanna come catch touchdowns or do you wanna maybe break up a pass or two a game?'

"That's the decision you've gotta make. He'll make plays no matter where he's at. Of course, as a quarterback, I hope he plays more offense, but wherever he needs to play to make our team better, because he will make us better, is what's going to happen. All for whatever that is."

Lawrence might get his wish, as Hunter is currently listed as a starting wide receiver and a second-string quarterback on the Jaguars' first unofficial depth chart ahead of the start of the season.

Hunter has proved he's more than capable of being productive on both ends of the ball—he racked up 92 receptions for 1,258 yards and 16 touchdowns while adding 36 total tackles, 11 passes defended, four interceptions and a forced fumble on defense at Colorado last season.

He'll look to find that kind of success at the next level as well.
