Bears Insiders Reportedly Feel Ben Johnson Will Change Offense for Caleb Williams
New Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson reportedly is preparing to build an offense based on second-year quarterback Caleb Williams' strengths.
According to ESPN's Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler, "the feeling" is that Johnson "will eventually tailor his plan to accentuate Williams' strength — mobility, throwing on the move and off-script plays."
But an offense tailored around Williams' strengths might not come immediately.

"For now, it's all about mastering the basics and throwing everything at him, knowing the Bears can scale back later," Graziano and Fowler wrote.
Williams had a solid rookie year, throwing for 3,541 yards, 20 touchdowns and six interceptions, but there's still plenty for him to work on. Having a coach willing to fine-tune the offense to Williams' game could be exactly what he needs to have a breakout season in Year 2.
According to ESPN's Courtney Cronin, Williams has set a lofty goal to throw for 4,000 yards and complete 70 percent of his passes. If Johnson can put together an offense that complements Williams' skills, that goal should be achievable.
