Levy held a number of titles throughout his legendary football career, including the head coach of the CFL's Montreal Alouettes, the general manager of the Bills for two seasons, and a college head coach at New Mexico, California and William & Mary.
However, he is best known for his time in the NFL.
His NFL coaching career began as an assistant for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1969, and he later became a member of staffs for the Los Angeles Rams and Washington. The Chiefs then hired him as their head coach starting in the 1978 season, and he remained in the position for five years.
Yet it was as the head coach of the Bills that Levy found his most success and became a football legend.
He coached Buffalo from 1986 through 1997 and finished with a 112-70 record, which stood in stark contrast to his 31-42 mark in Kansas City. Most famously, he led the Bills to four consecutive Super Bowls starting with the 1990 campaign.
Unfortunately for Buffalo, it lost all four Super Bowls and is still searching for its first Lombardi Trophy.
But Levy brought the team closer than it ever has been as the head coach for all four of the Bills' Super Bowl appearances. As a result, he was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a member of the class of 2001.
And it was fittingly at the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, where fans celebrating the enshrinement of the 2025 class sang him happy birthday in honor of turning 100.
