Bucs' Mike Evans Praised by HC Todd Bowles, 'He's Found the Fountain of Youth'
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles discussed Mike Evans' longevity as the veteran wide receiver prepares for his 12th NFL season.
"This is probably the freshest I’ve seen him in training camp from a fresh in practice standpoint and a competing standpoint,” Bowles said during a Friday appearance on NFL Network (h/t Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk). “I’ve never seen him better. Usually he gets a tweak here and there and has to sit out. He hasn’t had that. He’s been jumping in every time. He blocks. He runs routes. It looks like he’s having more fun than he’s ever had and he’s found the fountain of youth. We’re gonna ride him ‘til the cows come home.”

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Evans could be entering his final season with Tampa Bay, as he's set to play on the last year of a two-year contract worth $52 million that he signed with the team in March 2024.
The six-time Pro Bowl wideout has been extremely consistent throughout his Buccaneers career, as he's the only player in NFL history with 11 straight seasons of at least 1,000 receiving yards.
Evans' 105 total touchdown catches are also the most among all active players and the ninth-most all-time (via Pro Football Reference).
The 31-year-old remained productive during his 2024 campaign, hauling in 74 receptions for 1,004 yards and 11 touchdowns. Evans served as Baker Mayfield's top target on a Buccaneers squad that owned the No. 3 passing offense in the league.
Tampa Bay's air attack should remain a strength this season, with 2025 first-round pick Emeka Egbuka joining Evans and Chris Godwin atop the team's depth chart at wide receiver.
As the Buccaneers look to secure their sixth straight playoff appearance, Evans seemingly hasn't lost a step.
