Ravens' Harbaugh Says Lamar Jackson 'As Good as Any Passer That There's Ever Been'
Lamar Jackson has emerged as one of the most dynamic playmakers in football and is one of the undisputed premier quarterbacks in the sport.
His head coach, John Harbaugh, has even higher praise than that for him, however.
"He is a historically good passer," he told ESPN's Kevin Clark on the This is Football show (h/t ESPN's Jamison Hensley). "And that's really quite a statement because of the narrative that's been surrounding him ever since the beginning. Lamar Jackson can throw the football. He can throw it every kind of way, he can make every kind of throw any kind [of] way you want. He's as good as any passer that there's ever been—and I think now the numbers are proving that."

"So that's the thing I'm kind of a little bit proud of, but [I'm] also a little bit like, 'OK, here we go, what have we learned from that?'" Harbaugh added. "You can take any big picture—from a society standpoint, from a football standpoint—what did we learn from that? And what kinds of questions do we ask ourselves? But, Lamar Jackson as a passer is historically great."
Jackson is certainly creating that level of career résumé for himself. The two-time MVP and four-time Pro Bowler was incredible in 2024, throwing for 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns and just four interceptions while completing 66.7 percent of his passes. He continues to grow as an elite passer, and his rushing ability (915 yards, four touchdowns last season) is well-documented.
All that's left for Jackson to prove, at this point, is whether he can lead the Ravens to a Super Bowl title. On an individual level, he's ticked every available box.
