Jhoan Duran Reportedly 'Prominently' Linked to Phillies, Red Sox amid MLB Trade Rumors
The Philadelphia Phillies and Boston Red Sox are "prominently in" for Minnesota Twins closer Jhoan Durán, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman.
Heyman said the New York Yankees, New York Mets and Seattle Mariners are also tracking the fourth-year flamethrower. MLB Network's Jon Morosi reported the Los Angeles Dodgers are looking at Durán and other late-inning solutions.
According to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, a resolution may arrive soon:

Some fans thought Durán was out the door when he began hugging teammates in the bullpen during Tuesday's 8-5 loss to Boston. Alas, that didn't signify anything as to his status with Minnesota.
The right-hander is in the midst of another strong season. Through 49 appearances, he has 16 saves and a 2.49 FIP, per Baseball Reference.
Although his strikeout rate (9.7 per nine innings) is on pace to be a career low, he's still averaging 100.2 mph on his four-seam fastball and 97.5 mph on his splitter, according to Baseball Savant. His stuff is just as overpowering as it was before.
One added benefit with Durán is that he's arbitration-eligible for two more years.
Especially with Feinsand's report in mind, a trade prior to Thursday's 6 p.m. ET deadline feels inevitable.
The Twins are fourth in the American League Central at 51-56 and they're 5.5 games back of the Seattle Mariners for the final wild-card spot. They're firmly in selling mode.
And Durán's already high trade value soared higher in the wake of Emmanuel Clase going on paid leave through Aug. 31 amid a betting probe by MLB. With the Cleveland Guardians closer off the board, a small premium was added to every other proven reliever on the market.
Dealing Durán amounts to Minnesota waving the white flag, but he could yield some assets that help the team beyond 2025.
