There is reportedly still no firm information regarding when or if the next WWE draft will take place.
PWInsider.com (h/t Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats) reported Wednesday that it hasn't "heard a word" about the draft recently.
It was previously reported by PWInsider.com (h/t Ortman) back in March that WWE was planning to do a draft at the conclusion of WrestleMania 41 season.
Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live (h/t Ortman) followed up with a report in May, noting that there had been discussions about doing the draft during WWE's long weekend in Tampa, which included Saturday Night's Main Event, Raw and two NXT events.
However, that did not come to fruition, and it is now fair to wonder when or if another draft will happen.
Since 2016, at least one WWE draft has occurred every year with the exception of 2022.
The past two drafts in 2023 and 2024 were held in late April and early May after WrestleMania, and the three drafts before that were done in October.
Since WrestleMania 41 is now very much in the rear-view mirror, it could be an indication that WWE wants to return to doing the draft in the fall prior to Survivor Series.
At the same time, WWE allows for roster flexibility with Raw and SmackDown Superstars appearing on the other show quite often, so it is possible the lead decision-makers don't view a draft as necessary.
Latest on Drew McIntyre's SummerSlam Status
Drew McIntyre's passport issue reportedly has yet to be resolved ahead of his scheduled match at SummerSlam this weekend.
According to PWInsider.com (h/t SEScoops.com's Michael Reichlin), McIntyre's passport problems are legitimate and not part of a storyline, putting his SummerSlam participation in jeopardy.
On Sunday, McIntyre posted a video on X in which he said he was stuck in England after attending a friend's wedding because he didn't have his United States passport with him:
With McIntyre still overseas, TC of WrestleVotes reported Monday that the "wheels are in motion" regarding WWE making alternative plans in case McIntyre is not available for SummerSlam.
The Miz has already offered his services, saying in an Instagram video that he will step in as Logan Paul's partner against Randy Orton and Jelly Roll if need be.
However, it may not be time to panic yet, as Fightful Select (h/t WrestlePurists) reported Tuesday that people in WWE are "confident" McIntyre's situation will be figured out in time for SummerSlam.
Orton and Jelly Roll against McIntyre and Paul is scheduled for Night 1 of SummerSlam on Saturday, and it is paramount that the match comes across well with or without McIntyre's involvement.
There are always more mainstream eyes on matches that include celebrities like Jelly Roll, so WWE will want to stick the landing in order to make him look good and to get people buzzing.
Backstage Details on Reigns, Reed, Uso, Breakker Segment
This week's episode of Raw went off the air in explosive fashion following a match between Jey Uso and Bronson Reed.
Bron Breakker interfered in the match and launched an attack on Uso, prompting Roman Reigns to make the save ahead of a SummerSlam tag team match pitting Reigns and Uso against Breakker and Reed.
While Reigns initially got the upper hand, Breakker and Reed regrouped, and they blasted The OTC through the barricade with a double spear.
Adding insult to injury, Reed unlaced Reigns' shoes, took them off and held them up as the show ended.
According to Fightful Select (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), Michael Hayes and Adam Pearce served as the producers of the match and subsequent segment, while writer Chad Barbash also contributed.
Given that Reigns got the upper hand on Breakker and Reed in previous weeks by saving Uso, Monday's angle was much needed in terms of giving Breakker and Reed momentum entering SummerSlam.
It is still widely expected that Reigns and Uso will win given that it will be Reigns' first match since his loss at WrestleMania 41, but the creative team did a solid job of making Breakker and Reed look like they were on equal footing with Reigns and Uso on Raw.
