Angel Reese Double-Doubles in Return from Back Injury as Sky Lose to Mystics

Angel Reese does not appear to have missed a beat in her injury absence.

The second-year forward secured a double-double after missing the previous two games with a back injury. Unfortunately, it was not enough to lead her team to victory as the Chicago Sky fell 103-86 to the Washington Mystics.

The Sky went down 55-47 at the half and the Mystic continued to push from there. Washington was led by Sonia Citron, who had 28 points, two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.

Other notable contributors included Kiki Iriafen, who had 22 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Brittney Sykes had 18 points, five assists, two rebounds and two assists while Shakira Austin had six points, six rebounds and three assists.

Reese led the charge for the Sky, scoring 22 points while adding 13 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks. She shot 6-of-16 on field goals and was 10-of-11 from the free throw line.

Other notable contributors included Kamila Cardoso, who had 21 points and nine rebounds, Rachel Banham had 19 points and Rebecca Allen had 10 points.

Washington improved to 13-13 with the win while Chicago fell to 7-19 with the loss. The Sky are next in action on Friday against the Golden State Valkyries.
