49ers' Tarron Jackson Hospitalized After Leaving Practice in Ambulance Due to Injury
San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Tarron Jackson was hospitalized after suffering an injury in practice on Sunday.
According to ESPN's Nick Wagoner, Jackson fell to the ground while being blocked by offensive tackle Isaac Alarcon on a running play. He was not moving for a moment, but then began moving his hands.
About seven minutes after the injury, he was taken to Stanford Hospital. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said that he was conscious and was able to move his extremities shortly after arriving at the hospital.

"[You're] always scared when someone gets taken off on a stretcher," Shanahan said. "He's conscious, communicating with us, can feel all his extremities and they're taking him down to Stanford now to start further testing. So, hopefully we cleared the real scary stuff."
Jackson, a standout at Coastal Carolina, was a sixth-round draft pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2021. He appeared in 17 games as a rookie, logging 18 tackles and a sack.
Over the past three seasons, Jackson has spent time on the practice squads of the Eagles and Carolina Panthers, and he signed with the 49ers' practice squad in January. He signed a futures contract with San Francisco after the season.
According to Wagoner, Jackson had spent the first four practices working with the third-string defensive line.
After Jackson was taken to the hospital, the 49ers opted to continue practicing.
"We were close to him so we could hear him talking and we could see everything moving," Shanahan said. "I just told the guys that, which eases them up a little bit with the biggest fears and asked them if they were okay to continue to go. They all yelled yes and we finished the last period."
The 49ers begin their preseason slate on Aug. 9 with a matchup against the Denver Broncos before the start of the regular season on Sept. 7.
