Cameron Brink Says She Can 'See The Light at the End of the Tunnel' amid Injury Rehab
Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink is still working her way back to the court after suffering a torn ACL in her left knee last June, but she sees the "light at the end of the tunnel" toward an imminent return.
“I feel great. I’m super thankful that the Sparks have let me take my time and really feel great coming back,” Brink told reporters (h/t Doug Feinberg of the Associated Press) after participating in her team's shootaround Saturday, “I’m excited to be out there with my teammates.”

“I’ve put in a lot of hard work. I feel like what people usually see is me living my life normally, but people don’t see the hours and hours that I put in the gym with my trainers, amazing training staff. I’ve been working my (behind) off, so I definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel for sure.”
The Sparks are visiting the New York Liberty on Saturday evening. Brink took part in a shootaround and also did a 20-minute workout on the Barclays Center practice court.
Head coach Lynne Roberts ruled Brink out for the Liberty game but said the ex-Stanford star would return soon.
Brink averaged 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 1.1 steals in 22.0 minutes per game last season.
The No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft showcased her potential numerous times during her rookie year, including a 21-point game and a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double, both of which were against the Dallas Wings.
Brink also dropped a 16-point, seven-rebound, two-steal effort against the Atlanta Dream on June 16. Sadly, Brink suffered the ACL injury two days later against the Connecticut Sun.
Thankfully, it appears Brink will be back far sooner rather than later, which is a welcome sight for a 10-14 Sparks team that's fighting for a playoff spot.
Brink's next opportunity to play will be Tuesday at home versus the Las Vegas Aces. L.A. will then visit the Seattle Storm next Friday before returning home for a two-game homestand on Tuesday, Aug. 5 and Thursday, Aug. 7.
