MLB Scout Predicts Yankees Won't Trade Spencer Jones amid MLB Rumors
One American League scout believes the Yankees will hold onto minor league outfielder Spencer Jones past Thursday's trade deadline, per comments made to ESPN's Jorge Castillo.
"My instinct is, no, they won't [trade him]," the scout told Castillo. "They won't need to."
Jones has caught fire with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after being promoted in June, hitting .400 (1.407 OPS) with 13 home runs and 25 RBI in just 19 games. He smacked 16 home runs in 49 games with Double-A Somerset before the call-up.

So it would obviously benefit the Yankees to keep Jones if they can, even if the team has no room for him in the bigs right now with four outfielders getting playing time (Aaron Judge, Trent Grisham, Cody Bellinger, Jasson Domínguez) plus Giancarlo Stanton soaking up at-bats at designated hitter.
The Yankees sorely needed a third baseman before the trade deadline, and they got one Friday in Ryan McMahon of the Colorado Rockies for a pair of pitching prospects, per Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
That could very well end up being the Yankees' biggest addition before the deadline, so it certainly makes sense that New York would keep Jones now. Plus, Jack Curry of YES Network (h/t the Yankee Report) previously reported that the team would need to be "overwhelmed" to move Jones.
So at this point, it appears the Yankees will be holding onto Jones, which could be a massive benefit for the team long run as he showcases power that could lead to tremendous success in the bigs.
