The Storm stayed ahead of Chicago throughout the game, taking a 39-26 halftime lead and never looking back. The team was led by Skylar Diggins, who had 21 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks. She also shot 7-of-14 overall, 3-of-6 from three-point range and was a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line.
Other notable contributors for Seattle included Erica Wheeler, who had 13 points, Dominique Malonga, who had 14 points and Lexie Brown, who had 12 points. Four of the team's five starters finished in double figures.
The Sky had a lackluster offensive night without Reese's front court presence. Kamilla Cardoso and Rachel Banham each had 13 points while Elizabeth Williams finished with 11 points.
While it wasn't the strongest effort by the Sky, rookie Hailey Van Lith did get a solid opportunity off of the bench. The 23-year-old scored eight points and added five assists, and a rebound in 24 minutes. She shot 3-of-8 overall and 1-of-1 from the free throw line.
Seattle improved to 14-10 with the victory while Chicago falls to 7-17. The Sky will next be in action on Sunday against the Indiana Fever.
