Von Miller Says He Was 'Intentional' on Commanders Contract, 'I'm All About Winning'
After spending the last three seasons with the Buffalo Bills, veteran linebacker Von Miller knew he wanted to land with a team that is on the rise.
Miller told reporters on Thursday that he was "very intentional" about joining the Washington Commanders.
"You can't just leave Josh Allen," Miller added. "Can't just go from the AFC Championship and go anywhere. … This team is about winning and I'm all about winning."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Miller played 13 games in the 2024 season and produced six sacks for Buffalo, which advanced to the AFC Championship Game. The Bills released the 36-year-old in March, and he took his time finding a new home before signing a one-year deal with the Commanders earlier this week.
Miller told the Washington Post’s Nicki Jhabvala that he met with other teams throughout the offseason, but the prospect of playing with 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels swayed his decision.
"It was the best team with the best quarterback," Miller said. "That’s usually the math for me to be able to go and do what I do."
An eight-time Pro Bowler, Miller is the NFL's active sack leader with 129.5 in his 14-year career. He is now three years removed from his second ACL tear in 2022, and he feels that he has a lot more left in the tank.
"One of my things this offseason was just to stay healthy," Miller told Jhabvala. "It’s kind of weird not having a contract. You don’t want to hit it too hard because you don’t want to come in feeling unhealthy. … So I had to take my foot off the gas a little bit. But these last three weeks, I’ve been hitting it pretty hard. So I’m feeling pretty good. I’m ready to go."
