Twenty-five years after the first-ever tables, ladders and chairs match, WWE reportedly may have one in the works for SummerSlam next month.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats), WWE had plans in place for a six-team TLC match at SummerSlam, although he is unsure if it will ultimately be added to the card.

No details were provided regarding which teams or which titles might be involved, but it would make sense for a TLC match to be focused on the SmackDown tag team division.

Multiple teams have been vying for the WWE Tag Team Championships over the past several months, and Wyatt Sicks members Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis recently won them from The Street Profits.

DIY, The Motor City Machine Guns, Fraxiom and the team of Rey Fenix and Andrade have also been pursuing the titles, making them ideal candidates for a TLC match as well.

Fenix and Andrade are scheduled to challenge The Wyatt Sicks for the WWE tag team titles Friday night on SmackDown, and an easy way to get to a TLC match at SummerSlam would be for the other teams to interfere.

Three months ago, The Street Profits, DIY and The Motor City Machine Guns put on one of the most entertaining TLC matches of all time, and there is little doubt they could pull off a repeat performance if given the opportunity with other teams involved.

On top of that, SummerSlam 2000 was the birth of the TLC match with Edge and Christian, the Hardy Boyz and the Dudley Boyz, so it would be fitting for six of the best tag teams WWE has to offer to celebrate 25 years of TLC at SummerSlam 2025.

SummerSlam Plans Reportedly Changed for Flair, Bliss

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss will challenge Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships at SummerSlam, but that reportedly wasn't always the plan.

According to Meltzer (h/t Ortman), original plans called for Flair and Bliss to have a match against each other at SummerSlam, but WWE reversed course after determining that Charlotte and Alexa were excelling as a team.

In the weeks leading up to Evolution, Flair and Bliss had several backstage segments in which Bliss was seemingly attempting to help Flair find herself.

Alexa took it upon herself to get them an opportunity to compete for the tag team titles, and while Charlotte was reluctant at first, she ultimately went along with it.

At Evolution, Flair and Bliss competed in a Fatal 4-Way tag team match for the titles against Raquel and Roxanne, The Kabuki Warriors, and Zaria and Sol Ruca.

While Rodriguez and Perez retained, Charlotte and Alexa strengthened their bond during the match, particularly when Flair saved Bliss from a Zaria spear.

On the July 18 episode of SmackDown, Flair and Rodriguez squared off in a singles match, and when Perez attempted to interfere, Bliss evened the odds, allowing Charlotte to prevail.

That helped earn them a women's tag team title shot at SummerSlam, and given how over Flair and Bliss have gotten as a team, it won't be a shock if they win the championships.

Reported SummerSlam Placement for Lynch vs. Valkyria

The Women's Intercontinental Championship match between Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria is scheduled to take place on Night 1 of SummerSlam on Aug. 2, according to Meltzer (h/t Ortman).

On the July 14 Raw, Valkyria beat Bayley in a two-out-of-three-falls match to earn another shot at Lynch and the women's IC title.

Lyra was the inaugural women's intercontinental champion, but she dropped the title to Becky at Money in the Bank, and Bayley returned from her absence shortly thereafter to enter the title scene as well.

At Evolution, Lynch, Valkyria and Bayley opened the show with a spectacular Triple Threat match, which The Man won by pinning Bayley.

With Lyra establishing herself as the No. 1 contenders once again, she and Lynch laid out the ground rules for their SummerSlam match on Raw.

Becky said that if Lyra loses, she cannot challenge for the women's IC title again for as long as she is champion. Valkyria agreed on the condition that their match have no count-outs or disqualifications.

Given how well the Triple Threat match with Bayley went over at Evolution, it is easy to envision Lynch and Valkyria potentially opening Night 1 of the first two-night SummerSlam in WWE history.

Their in-ring chemistry is undeniable, and there is no reason to think their next encounter will be anything less than excellent.
