Jets Showcase Locker Room Renovations in New Video, Includes Barber Shop, More

After receiving low marks in several categories the NFLPA survey released earlier this year, the New York Jets took steps to improve the player experience by renovating the locker room during the offseason.

The Jets unveiled their new-look locker room in a video released on Tuesday, coinciding with players reporting for the start of training camp.

Since the NFLPA began publishing its player survey of overall working conditions in 2023, the Jets have ranked in the bottom half of the league overall all three years.

In the 2025 report card released in February, the Jets ranked 29th overall and their only above-average grades were in the categories of nutritionist/dietician (B-plus), strength coaches (B) and head coach (B).

Ownership received the lowest grade with an F, with players noting Woody Johnson "does not contribute to a positive team culture." The locker room received the second-lowest grade (D-plus).

"They do not feel that there is enough space, and the carpet is stained and worn out as if it has been there for decades," the survey said of the Jets' locker-room conditions.

It's perhaps not a coincidence that the video released on Tuesday cites the 92 full-size custom lockers as the first highlight of the renovation. Other upgrades cited in the video include customized monitors in every locker, state of the art recovery area, an expanded sauna with a Sonos sound system and a full barbershop experience.

The locker renovation comes in the midst of an offseason when ownership seemed to take an aggressive approach in reshaping the narrative around the franchise coming off a chaotic 2024 season.

Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey were hired as head coach and general manager, respectively. The Jets took a practical approach in the draft and free agency, earning solid marks in the former for filling out areas of need rather than trying to do something dramatic.

Time will tell if the decisions play out as expected, but this feels like the first time in a long time that the Jets are doing things right to build a playoff contender in the AFC.
