Marlins Reportedly Don't Want Stowers Trade But All Bets Are Off If They Can't Say No
Miami Marlins outfielder Kyle Stowers has emerged as one of the top young talents in the majors, so it's no surprise that the team won't be trading him without receiving the right price.
The Athletic's Jim Bowden reported that the Marlins "are planning to build around" Stowers, who was selected to his first career All-Star Game this year. However, Bowden added that "all bets are off" if a club like the Cincinnati Reds, San Diego Padres or Kansas City Royals wants to "make an offer so strong they can’t say no."
Stowers leads Miami with a .295 batting average, 21 home runs and 59 RBI. He drew some attention earlier this month with a three-homer game in an 11-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles, who had sent him to the Marlins before the 2024 trade deadline. In his first game after the All-Star break, he launched two home runs in a win over the Kansas City Royals, one of which was a walk-off two-run blast in the 10th inning to secure the 8-7 victory.

Stowers has what it takes to be the face of the franchise. At 27 years old, he's still entering his prime and could become a future superstar with the right development.
The Marlins rank third in the NL East with a 46-52 record, so they will need some improvements if they hope to contend for a playoff spot this year. However, Miami would be wise to hold on to Stowers and add pieces around him rather than giving him up for future assets.
