Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Jordan Mailata and Washington Commanders linebacker Frankie Luvu claimed the next two spots in the ranking of the NFL's 100 best players heading into the 2025 season.
Both are new entries after failing to crack the group in 2024.

Luvu lived up to the three-year, $31 million contract he signed with Washington last offseason. He had a career-high eight sacks along with 99 total tackles, seven pass breakups and one forced fumble.
Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels justifiably received a lot of praise as the Commanders notched 12 wins and reached the NFC championship game. Their improvement on defense also played a big role in that success.
Washington ranked last in both yards and points allowed in 2023. With first-year head coach Dan Quinn at the helm, it moved up to 13th in total defense (327.9 yards) and 18th in scoring defense (23.0 points).
Luvu's efforts toward that turnaround haven't gone unnoticed. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler ranked him fifth in his annual list of the best off-ball linebackers.
"I have so much respect for him — he's been one of the best tone-setters in the NFL," one defensive coach said to Fowler. "His production over the last three years is as good as anyone."
If Luvu can carry his 2024 performance into 2025, then a first Pro Bowl nod could be in store.
Mailata is likewise coming off a career year as he helped Philly's offensive line maintain an elite level following the retirement of legendary center Jason Kelce. The Eagles ranked in the top 10 in ESPN's pass-block and run-block win rates.
The efforts of the O-line were best exemplified by Saquon Barkley running for 2,005 yards and averaging nearly six yards per carry.
Mailata and fellow tackle Lane Johnson are the NFL's best tandem on the edge, sitting fifth and third, respectively, in Fowler's OT ranking. The ESPN insider spoke to at least one person who believes Mailata is the best at the position.
"One of the most unique players in the NFL," an anonymous personnel executive said. "Has really improved year-to-year. Only thing that holds him back from the others at the top is they probably have better instincts."
That three-year, $66 million extension Mailata signed last March could look like a bargain if he puts it all together and emerges as an All-Pro.
