The Seattle Seahawks released tight end Noah Fant, the team announced Sunday.
The Seahawks saved $8.91 million against the salary cap by releasing Fant after he was due a non-guaranteed salary of $8.49 million in 2025, per Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.

Seattle agreed to terms on a rookie contract with tight end Elijah Arroyo, the team's second-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft, on Saturday.
Fant spent the first three seasons of his career with the Denver Broncos before he was traded to the Seahawks in a deal that was headlined by Russell Wilson joining Denver.
The former first-round pick recorded 1,343 yards and seven touchdown catches over his final two seasons as a member of the Broncos, but couldn't build upon the momentum in Seattle.
Fant hauled in 130 receptions for 1,400 yards across three years with the Seahawks. He racked up 48 catches for 500 yards and one touchdown during his 2024 campaign.
Fant's future in Seattle was murky following the selection of Arroyo, with head coach Mike Macdonald praising the incoming rookie earlier in the offseason.
"This guy can run an extensive route tree," Macdonald said regarding Arroyo in May, per ESPN's Brady Henderson. "To have to account for a tight end body on the field and him also to be able to split out wide, do X receiver type of things, bigger body than we probably have right now on our roster, just provides a ton of value."
With Fant no longer in the picture, the bulk of the Seahawks' available snaps at tight end will likely go to Arroyo, second-year tight end AJ Barner and free-agent addition Eric Saubert.
