The first baseman has now played in 354 straight games with New York, representing a franchise record.
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza revealed that Alonso had a "right hand contusion" near the base of his thumb but X-rays were negative, per MLB.com's Anthony DiComo.
The five-time All-Star has rarely missed time throughout his MLB career, appearing in at least 152 games during each of his first five full seasons. Alonso also suited up in 57 of New York's 60 games during its shortened 2020 campaign.
He's in the midst of an impressive 2025 season, recording 21 home runs and 77 RBIs while slashing .276/.370/.522. Alonso's 26 doubles are tied for the most in the National League and his .892 OPS is his highest since his rookie season in 2018.
His power at the plate has been a major reason why New York ranks No. 4 among NL teams with 126 homers this year.
The Mets are in a close battle for the NL East lead with a 55-44 record, currently trailing the Philadelphia Phillies by 1.5 games for the top spot in the division.
