Stefon Diggs Avoids PUP List to Open Patriots Training Camp After Knee Injury Rehab
New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who is recovering from a torn ACL in his right knee suffered last October, is not on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list with training camp set to begin on Wednesday, per ESPN's Mike Reiss.
Diggs, who played for the Houston Texans last season, suffered the non-contact injury while running a route in a 23-20 Week 8 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 27.

This is a great sign for Diggs and the Patriots, who signed the 10-year vet to a three-year, $63.5 million deal that includes $22.6 million in total guarantees, per Over the Cap.
Diggs averaged 111 catches and 1,343 yards in his four seasons with the Buffalo Bills before he was traded to the Texans during the 2024 offseason. He had 47 receptions and 496 yards and three scores in seven-plus games with Houston before suffering the season-ending injury.
There was already some optimism on Diggs' status earlier this week, when Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported Wednesday on NBC Sports Boston's Arbella Early Edition that the 31-year-old wideout was "trending to being able to play" in Week 1 when New England visits the Los Angeles Rams.
If Diggs isn't on the PUP list to start camp, then one can guess he's well on his way to being active for Week 1, barring any setbacks.
It's certainly possible that the Pats bring Diggs along a bit slowly during camp as he works his way back, but the four-time Pro Bowler should at least be out there in July, a good sign as New England looks to bounce back from a pair of 4-13 seasons.
