Angel Reese Says It's 'Good' to Finally Play With Paige Bueckers at WNBA All-Star Game

Julia StumbaughJul 19, 2025

Chicago Sky guard Angel Reese is excited to get the chance to play with Dallas Wings rookie Paige Bueckers as members of Team Collier during the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game.

"I've known Paige for a long time. We were the No. 1 and No. 2 players in our class, so we've been in a relationship for a really long time," Reese told WNBA reporter Karli Bell ahead of Saturday night's game. "It's good to finally be able to play together instead of playing against each other."

Reese, Bueckers and Team Collier are set to tip off against Team Clark at 8:30 p.m. ET at the Indiana Fever's Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Reese, who originally played for Maryland before transferring to LSU, and Bueckers, who played four seasons over five years with UConn, both joined the NCAA as members of the 2020 recruiting class.

Reese celebrated that recruiting class in a post on X in April, shortly after Bueckers helped lead the Huskies to win the 2025 national championship.

Bueckers and Reese then met up for the first time as WNBA opponents on May 29, when the Sky claimed its first win of the season with a 97-95 victory over the Wings.

The two players were seen sharing a friendly moment on the court during the game:

Reese and Fever star Caitlin Clark were the only WNBA rookies to receive invitations to the 2025 All-Star Game.

This year, Bueckers joined the Washington Mystics' Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen on the roster in the first All-Star Game to feature at least three rookies since 2011, according to the WNBA.

Reese is averaging 14.0 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals through 21 games with the Sky this season, while Bueckers has posted 18.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game in 18 appearances for the Wings.

Both could be instrumental to Team Collier's hopes of winning the All-Star Game against a Team Clark roster led by A'ja Wilson, Sabrina Ionescu and Aliyah Boston.
