Eagles Unveil Photos, Video of Super Bowl 59 Rings Celebrating Win over Chiefs
The Philadelphia Eagles revealed their Super Bowl LIX rings in honor of the franchise's second Lombardi Trophy on Friday evening.
The 2024 Eagles finished 18-3 overall when accounting for their dominant postseason run. Philadelphia notably went 16-1 over its last 17 games, including win streaks of 10 and six games.
Philadelphia also authored two dominant displays in the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl, crushing the Washington Commanders 55-23 before dispatching the back-to-back defending champion Kansas City Chiefs 40-22.
The Eagles were up 24-0 at halftime and 34-0 in the third quarter over Kansas City.
Running back Saquon Barkley, who arrived in town as a free agent from the New York Giants, was the star of the show. He amassed an NFL-record 2,504 rushing yards, including the playoffs, while scoring 20 touchdowns.
In addition, the former Penn State star won the Associated Press' Offensive Player of the Year award. Barkley also became just the ninth player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 or more yards in a single regular season.
On defense, free-agent acquisition and linebacker Zack Baun headlined the unit with a breakout season, racking up 151 tackles and First Team All-Pro honors. He also finished as a finalist for the AP Defensive Player of the Year.
Offensive tackle Lane Johnson and defensive tackle Jalen Carter landed on the All-Pro Second Team. Center Cam Jurgens, who replaced future Hall of Famer Jason Kelce, made the Pro Bowl.
Rookies also made a great impact, including cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, who finished second and fourth, respectively, in the Defensive Rookie of the Year race behind Los Angeles Rams edge-rusher Jared Verse.
Last, but not least, quarterback Jalen Hurts gallantly captained the team to victory. The Super Bowl MVP accounted for 32 touchdowns (18 passing, 14 rushing) in the regular season before adding 10 more scores (five passing, five rushing) in the playoffs. His favorite targets were wide receivers A.J. Brown (67 catches, 1,079 yards, seven touchdowns) and DeVonta Smith (68 catches, 833 yards, eight touchdowns).
Tonight is a moment for the Eagles to celebrate and reflect on their past accomplishments, but now Philadelphia is looking toward back-to-back Super Bowl rings.
Players report to training camp on Tuesday, and their regular season begins on Thursday, Sept. 4, at home versus the Dallas Cowboys.
