Roman Reigns' Return Bolsters Bron Breakker's Path to WWE Main Event Scene

Erik BeastonJul 16, 2025

Roman Reigns returned to WWE on Monday's Raw, exacting a measure of revenge for the shocking betrayal his former "Wise Man," Paul Heyman, perpetrated on him back at WrestleMania 41.

The OTC's return immediately injected life into a WWE product that has been somewhat stagnant through the first half of the summer and received a deafening ovation from the fans at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.

While the show took on a greater sense of importance and Reigns reestablished his status as the needle-mover in professional wrestling, it was Bron Breakker who benefited most from his momentous comeback.

The 27-year-old has seen his star rise in recent weeks, helped by him jumping the line and seizing mic time from Seth Rollins during an in-ring promo a few weeks back. His combination of in-ring intensity, unprecedented athleticism and jaw-dropping explosiveness has captivated fans and made him a favorite to watch, despite his status as a heel.

Hence the barking anytime he tees off on an opponent.

With every passing week and badass performance, the crowd grows louder in its support of the unstoppable force, to the point that his stature on Raw has grown over the last month.

Breakker has received more television time, has already planted the seeds to break free from Rollins' group when the time comes and is staring down the barrel of a main event push.

Even more so with The Visionary now apparently sidelined due to an injury suffered on Saturday Night's Main Event.

With Breakker ascending and Reigns back to do battle with him and Bronson Reed, the second-generation star is in the best possible position to bolster his impending run to the top of the card.

Reigns brings legitimacy to anyone he works with. As the top name in the industry, working with him heightens credibility and the future Hall of Famer has a long history of elevating the talent he works with.

"High tides raise all ships," he has said numerous times and that has proved to be the case as everyone who has worked with Reigns over the last three or four years become a bigger star for it.

Look no further than Jey Uso and Sami Zayn, two members of The Bloodline at its peak, both of whom are top-tier babyfaces in WWE thanks to the momentum their built working alongside The Tribal Chief.

Kevin Owens, Solo Sikoa and LA Knight are others who benefited from Reigns' monumental run as the face of The Bloodline while Cody Rhodes' spot at the top of WWE was cemented via his epic rivalry with The Head of the Table.

Reigns brings an aura and legitimacy that will rub off on Breakker and help him achieve a level of stardom that was not possible by beating up the same handful of babyfaces every Monday on Raw.

Working with him will announce to the WWE Universe that "Hey, this guy is a big deal, and you must keep an eye on him."

We have seen the two interact this year, with Breakker getting the best of Reigns the night after WrestleMania 41, when he revealed his alliance with Heyman and Rollins.

Now, he will oppose The OTC as a bigger, badder, more badass competitor ready to take that leap to the next level and begin the main event run so many had him pegged for when he made his first NXT appearance in 2022.

To get there, he must go through another second-generation star for whom stardom awaited him at the end of a Spear.

Not only will Reigns' star benefit him on screen, but Breakker will benefit from the lessons to be learned from him away from the cameras.

The former undisputed WWE universal champion has seen firsthand what happens when a star is shoved down the fans' throats before they are ready to accept him. He understands the value of having a creative genius like Heyman in his camp. He knows how to succeed and how to bounce back from failure.

It is all knowledge Breakker can benefit from by working with Reigns and invaluable experience for the son of the legendary Rick Steiner.

How he uses the upcoming feud with Reigns, the reinvigorated push from management, and the connection he will be able to build with the audience will ultimately determine how successful this journey to the main event will be.

If his own history of succeeding at every level to this point in his career is any indication, get ready for world champion Breakker sooner rather than later.
