Yankees, Mets Reportedly Among Teams Interested in David Robertson amid MLB Rumors
Life is defined by constant change, but David Robertson finding his way onto a team's bullpen is seemingly inevitable.
According to Will Sammon of The Athletic, the 40-year-old free agent is "throwing for interested clubs" and "several teams, including the New York Mets and New York Yankees, have at least recently looked into Robertson, league sources said. Multiple teams expect to attend one of his throwing sessions within the next week."
The Mets employed Robertson back in 2023, while he's already had two stints with the Yankees (2008-14; 2017-18). He was disastrous for the Texas Rangers in the closing role last season, blowing eight saves in 10 attempts, though his 3-4 record, 3.00 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 99 strikeouts in 72 innings weren't horrible marks.

Perhaps outside of the closer role, he might offer a contending team a decent depth option in the bullpen. Apparently, clubs are willing to entertain the idea.
