WWE fans watching the live broadcast of Saturday Night's Main Event XL on NBC didn't get to see Goldberg's full retirement speech after the show went off the air.

On Sunday, WWE released the full 10-minute speech delivered by Goldberg following his loss to WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.

Goldberg returned to the ring for the first time since the 2022 Elimination Chamber premium live event as he attempted to settle a feud that started with Gunther insulting him and his son, Gage, at the Bad Blood premium live event last October. The 58-year-old fought valiantly in front of his hometown fans at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, but he ultimately lost to Gunther's patented Sleeper Hold.

After the match, Goldberg had a heartfelt message for the fans as he closed the book on an epic wrestling career that began in 1997 in WCW following his brief football career.

"Every time I step in this ring, it’s with every one of you with me. All these kids, it’s the reason why I did what I did. I grew up wanting to be a professional football player. I was lucky enough to play at the University of Georgia. Go Dawgs! I was lucky enough to play for the Atlanta Falcons," Goldberg said (h/t Ian Carey of F4WOnline). "And I was lucky enough to beat Hogan in front of 45,000 of y’all. I’ve never thought about this moment because I never thought it would come. But I couldn’t have done it without you. Each and every one of you."

WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes also came out to pay tribute to Goldberg, who ended his speech with some advice for the fans.

"And again, treat everybody with respect. This can be a really crappy world if you let it," Goldberg said. "But if you stand up and you put your damn foot down and you lead by example, then it’s going to be one hell of a ride. And I want every one of you to take that ride with me."
