Zach BacharJul 13, 2025

Minnesota Twins closer Jhoan Durán is reportedly drawing interest from several teams as the trade deadline approaches.

According to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, the Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers and Cincinnati Reds are all targeting Durán.

The Phillies have also been "extensively scouting" Twins reliever Griffin Jax along with Durán, hoping to acquire "at least one" of them (via Nightengale).

Minnesota only sits three games back from a wild card spot and owns a record of 7-3 over its past 10 games, but the team still sits at 47-48 on the season and trails the Detroit Tigers by 11.5 games for the American League Central lead.

Durán has been a key piece of the Twins' bullpen, racking up 15 saves. He owns a 1.49 ERA and 1.087 WHIP in 43 appearances this year.

The 27-year-old hasn't given up a home run during the 2025 season and has a track record of fanning batters, owning a career average of 11.4 strikeouts per nine innings.

Minnesota will likely have a high asking price for Durán, especially since he has two more years of team control remaining on his contract. The reported potential suitors could also start a bidding war for the right-hander.

The 2025 MLB trade deadline is on July 31 at 6 p.m. ET.
