Cameron Brink Injury Update Revealed as Sparks 'Hope' Star Returns Before August
The Los Angeles Sparks are aiming to have second-year forward Cameron Brink back after the WNBA All-Star break.
Head coach Lynne Roberts told John W. Davis of the Press-Telegram that Brink "is gonna be back shortly."
"Hopefully we get her back by the end of this month," Roberts said. "We'll see when it actually is."

Brink's rookie season came to an end after 15 games due to a torn ACL. Suffering the injury in June also meant that a conservative estimate for her recovery had her missing most or all of the first half for 2025.
The 6'4" rim protector showed enough in her first year to justify the massive hype she had coming out of college. She averaged 3.8 blocks and 8.8 rebounds per 36 minutes, according to Basketball Reference. At that pace, she may have garnered some Defensive Player of the Year buzz if she had stayed healthy.
Roberts acknowledged to Davis that Brink will need to shake off a lot of rust. It's not as though the young star will immediately be an elite post defender once she's back on the floor.
Brink's eventual return is at least a source of encouragement for a team that needs a big second half.
At 6-14, Los Angeles is 11th in the WNBA standings and four games back of the Indiana Fever for the final playoff berth. Part of the Sparks' struggles is due in part to ranking 11th in defensive rating (108.3), per WNBA.com.
Even assuming she's unable to help get the team's postseason quest on course, Brink can use the rest of the season to help set herself up for a big 2026.
