Angel Reese Stars With 8th Straight Double-Double as Sky Beat Napheesa Collier, Lynx

A double-double from Angel Reese helped lead the Chicago Sky to an upset victory over the Minnesota Lynx.

The 87-81 victory was the Sky's first win of the season against a team with a winning record. Reese's double-double was her eighth straight and 14th of the season.

The Sky led wire-to-wire, and a 45-28 rebound advantage was a driving force. Chicago held significant edges on both the offensive and defensive glass and outscored Minnesota 44-28 in the paint.

Reese played an impactful role for the Sky, scoring 19 points along with 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals. She was 8-of-14 on shooting and went 3-of-4 from the free-throw line.

Ariel Atkins led the Sky with 27 points while Kamila Cardoso had 16 and Rachel Banham added 12.

The Lynx were led by Napheesa Collier, who had 26 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Kayla McBride contributed 17 points and Courtney Williams had 13 in the losing effort.

Chicago improved to 7-13 with the victory while the Lynx fell to 18-4.

Reese and the Sky will be back in action on Monday in a rematch against the Lynx. That game is set to tip off at 8 p.m. ET.
