Jennie Finch Makes History
4 of 4
Jennie Finch is one of the greatest softball pitchers of all time, a two-time Olympian, three-time world champion, and three-time All-American.
During her appearance in the 2004 Olympic games, she established dominance, striking out 13 opposing batters, allowing one hit, one walk, and accumulating a 2-0 record, one of the best performances in the history of her sport on the world's stage.
She will make more history for herself in 2025, extending her record of MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game appearances to 15.
A staple of the game since her first appearance in 2011 at Chase Field in Arizona, she makes her return this year, but with an added title.
MLB's official website revealed that, "in addition to her role as MLB Softball Ambassador, Finch will serve as the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) Advisor."
An ambassador for the sport that made her a household name, Finch will look to make an impact in this year's game, which also features fellow returning star, Terrell Owens.
The 2018 Pro Football Hall of Famer was part of his team's six runs a year ago, smacking a homer. Whether he has that magic in him again and can again contribute to the winning team's victory remains to be seen.
Finch will have a shot at redemption against Owens after her team fell to T.O. last year. With Javy Lopez returning to Atlanta and determined to win in front of the same fans he competed for during his time with the Braves, do not be surprised to see Finch return to the winner's column, even with Owens and Pro Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher CC Sabathia on the opposite side.
