Backstage WWE Rumors on Bray Wyatt, The Wyatt Sicks, Shayna Baszler and More
The Wyatt Sicks are firmly implanted in the SmackDown tag team division, chasing gold while feuding with some of the best teams in the world, but there still feels like there is plenty of story to be told involving them and their connection to Bray Wyatt.
A new report suggests that is coming sooner rather than later, but on a platform some may not be expecting.
That headlines this collection of rumors from the industry's top insiders, including a new role for a former champion and a potential appearance from a TNA champion at one of this weekend's many WWE events.
Bray Wyatt, Wyatt Sicks Story Coming to WWE 2K25
1 of 3
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that a new story is coming to the popular WWE 2K25 video game featuring unused Bray Wyatt content and full Uncle Howdy videos:
"One person we spoke to said this will be one of the first 2K storylines that they think will get people emotional, and elaborated that there is a lot of unused Bray Wyatt content that will be featured. There will also be a lot of full videos of Uncle Howdy and Bo Dallas that help paint a very deep story."
Could this include more lore?
It will be interesting to see how much of this was previously intended to be used on television, involving Wyatt before his death in August 2023.
Furthermore, how much of it can (or will) be used on television to help heat the Wyatt Sicks back up after an injury to Howdy kept the group off of television and out of storylines for the entire first half of the year.
The group is currently involved in the stacked WWE Tag Team Championship picture on SmackDown, where they are feuding with the likes of Motor City Machine Guns, DIY and The Street Profits.
Shayna Baszler's Backstage Role at Tuesday's NXT
2 of 3
Former NXT women's champion Shayna Baszler was released from WWE in May but The Queen of Spades may already be back with the promotion if a new report is any indication.
Cory Hays of Bodyslam.net reported Baszler was listed as a producer for the match between Kelani Jordan and Lainey Reid on Tuesday night's episode of NXT.
Baszler, a product of the NXT system and one of its biggest stars during her time there, held the division's top prize and was a centerpiece of it before her call-up to the main roster.
While she likely has plenty left to offer between the ropes, and there is no indication that her in-ring career is over at all, helping to develop the next generation of stars the same way producers helped evolve her game nearly a decade ago is a significant role.
Whether she is officially back with WWE or this was a one-off trial run bears watching, but any way Baszler can positively affect the women's division and its next generation of stars should be greeted warmly.
TNA Champion to Appear at Great American Bash?
3 of 3Mike Johnson of PWInsider Elite reported that TNA Knockouts champion Masha Slamovich is scheduled to appear at NXT's Great American Bash premium live event on Saturday afternoon.
Slamovich is no stranger to several of the competitors appearing at the show, most notably NXT women's champion Jacy Jayne and No. 1 contender Jordynne Grace.
Grace and Slamovich engaged in one of the greatest rivalries in Knockouts division history. She even defeated The Juggernaut to secure the Knockouts Championship and catapult herself to the top of the women's roster in that company.
Recently, she defeated Jayne on an episode of Impact.
One would assume that, if Slamovich does make an appearance, it will be in or around the women's title picture, especially since she is slated to face the winner of Grace and Jayne's match at Evolution on TNA's biggest event of the year, Slammiversary.
Will things turn physical and, if so, which opponent feels her wrath?
