Adrian Peterson Boxing Fight Contract Signed By Joe Castaneda Amid Viral Poker Video
After turning a poker game into a brawl, Adrian Peterson and Joe Castaneda could end up settling their differences in a boxing ring.
Per TMZ Sports, Castaneda has signed a contract with Celebrity Boxing to fight Peterson.
Damon Feldman, founder of Celebrity Boxing, told TMZ he expects Peterson will sign the deal soon.
The situation between Peterson and Castaneda started in May during a poker game at the JokerStars club in Houston. It started as a verbal back and forth before escalating into a physical altercation.
Peterson said at the time he "felt really bad" for how the situation played out and both men made up afterward.
In the aftermath of that altercation, Castaneda told TMZ on June 29 that he "wouldn't shy away" from a sanctioned boxing match against Peterson.
"That would be totally up to him," added Castaneda.
It seems like the decision from Peterson is coming to do the bout. The 2012 NFL MVP has experience in exhibition boxing, losing to Le'Veon Bell via fifth-round TKO in September 2022.
Castaneda has no documented boxing experience, other than the video of his initial fight with Peterson. He did appear to get in a few good shots on Peterson before the seven-time Pro Bowl running back gathered himself.
No official date has been set for the potential bout, but Castaneda told TMZ he is getting ready to start training.
