Junior Caminero, Robert Suarez Among 2025 MLB All-Star Game Injury Replacements
With a handful of injured stars unable to participate in the All-Star Game, MLB released the injury replacements for those players.
Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero will replace Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman for the AL roster, earning Caminero his first All-Star nod.
Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Andrew Abbott will replace Los Angeles Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto for the NL. It will also be Abbott's first All-Star Game.

San Diego Padres closer Robert Suárez, who made his first All-Star Game last season, will replace Atlanta Braves' Chris Sale.
Additionally, it was announced Wednesday that Houston Astros infielder Isaac Parades was named as an injury replacement for Cleveland Guardians slugger José Ramírez and Detroit Tigers infielder Zach McKinstry will replace Houston Astros star Jeremy Pena on the AL roster.
Minnesota Twins pitcher Joe Ryan will also replace Astros pitcher Hunter Brown on the AL roster.
As for the NL roster, Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Trevor Megill will replace teammate Freddy Peralta.
Caminero is having a breakout season in his third year in the majors. The 22-year-old has 21 homers and 57 RBI, establishing himself as an everyday player in the majors after splitting time between the Rays and their minor league affiliates last year.
If Caminero's trajectory continues, it should be the first of many All-Star appearances for him.
Suárez is coming off the best season of his career a year ago when he recorded 36 saves and a 9-3 record behind a 2.77 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP. He hasn't been quite as good this year, but is still putting up All-Star worthy numbers. In 40 appearances, he has a 3.82 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP with 25 saves.
Abbott, who is in his third year in the majors after being selected by the Reds in 2021, has a 7-1 record with a 2.15 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP. The 26-year-old has a few solid seasons under his belt but is now emerging as a star.
Abbott found out about his All-Star nod during the Reds' game against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday.
"It's what every kid dreams of," Abbott told FanDuel Sports Network's Jim Day during the game broadcast (h/t The Cincinnati Enquirer's Gordon Wittenmyer). "I'm at a loss for words as you can tell. Grateful for everybody in the dugout. Grateful for my battery mates, (Tyler) Stephenson and (Jose) Trevino. Just, it's hard to describe the moment, but it's exciting for sure.”
While it's unfortunate that Bregman, Yamamoto and Sale won't be able to play in this year's All-Star game, Caminero, Suárez and Abbott will look to make the most of the opportunity.
