Caitlin Clark, Fever vs. Paige Bueckers, Wings Moved to American Airlines Center

Taylyn Hadley Jul 7, 2025

After their first attempt to stage a marquee showdown between Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark was derailed by Clark’s injury, the Dallas Wings are setting the stage for a do-over.

The Wings have officially moved their Aug. 1 game against the Indiana Fever from College Park Center to the larger American Airlines Center, setting up a highly anticipated clash between two of the WNBA’s brightest rising stars, per NBA insider Marc Stein.

The two young stars are no strangers to each other, having clashed multiple times while dominating the college basketball scene—Bueckers at UConn and Clark at Iowa—with their most memorable battles coming on the sport’s biggest stage.

Their first high-stakes meeting came in the 2021 Sweet 16, where Bueckers led UConn with 18 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in a 92–72 win over Iowa. Despite Clark’s 21 points, five assists and three rebounds, the Huskies pulled away to advance.

Despite Clark’s absence during the Fever’s first matchup against the Wings on June 27, Indiana pulled out a 94–86 win behind a scorching 32-point performance from guard Kelsey Mitchell, who shot 11-of-17 from the field. Bueckers still shined for Dallas, finishing with 27 points and six assists in the loss.

Tip-off for the highly anticipated rematch, dubbed “A Night in Dallas – The Sequel,” is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Aug. 1.
