Rockies' Kyle Farmer Jokes White Sox Series Was 'World Series' for MLB's 2 Worst Teams

Zach BacharJul 7, 2025

Colorado Rockies infielder Kyle Farmer had a playful reaction to the team's recent three-game series against the Chicago White Sox.

“It should be a highlight on SportsCenter,” Farmer joked, per Sam Blum of The Athletic. “This is the World Series for the two worst teams.”

The Rockies own the worst record in the National League at 21-69, while the White Sox are the American League's worst squad with a 30-60 record.

Chicago won the series between the two teams, earning a 3-2 victory in the first meeting and securing a lopsided 10-3 win in the second contest. Colorado emerged victorious in the third matchup by the final score of 6-4 on Sunday.

The overall records of both teams are well below the rest of the majors. The difference between the record of the White Sox and the record of the third-worst Athletics (six games) is greater than the difference between the Athletics and the ninth-worst Cleveland Guardians (five games).

As for Farmer, he's struggled at the plate to open his first year with the Rockies. He's recorded three home runs and 18 RBIs in 64 games, while his .600 OPS is a career-low mark.

Still, he had a lighthearted view of the team's matchup with the White Sox.
