Juan Soto Reacts to 2025 MLB All-Star Snub After Signing Historic $765M Mets Contract
New York Mets star outfielder Juan Soto reacted to being left off the 2025 MLB All-Star roster.
“I’ve just got to be better,” he said, via Jon Heyman of the New York Post.
The 26-year-old is in the midst of his first season with the Mets after signing a 15-year contract worth $765 million as a free agent in Dec. 2024, representing the largest deal in MLB history.

Soto made four consecutive All-Star appearances from 2021-24 despite playing for three different teams over that span.
"For me, I try to play as hard as I can and help the team and enjoy the moment," Soto said, per Dan Martin of the New York Post. "Everyone wants to be an All-Star and live the experience of being there, but this year it didn't happen. I was glad I was able to be there four years in a row. If I didn't make it this year, it's no big deal. I'll come back stronger next year."
The outfielders representing the National League in the 2025 All-Star Game will be Atlanta Braves slugger Ronald Acuña Jr., the Chicago Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong, Cubs teammate Kyle Tucker, Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Kyle Stowers of the Miami Marlins, San Diego Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. and the Washington Nationals' James Wood.
Soto has racked up 21 home runs, 51 RBI and a league-leading 72 walks while slashing .263/.396/.508 this season.
He struggled at the plate to open his 2025 campaign, hitting just .233 with three homers through his first 25 games of the season.
Soto has looked like his former self as of late, though, recording 10 home runs and 21 RBI while posting a 1.132 OPS across his past 30 appearances. But his recent surge wasn't enough to earn All-Star consideration.
Instead, he'll look to help the Mets secure their second consecutive postseason appearance. New York sits at No. 2 in the National League East standings with a 52-39 record.
