A'ja Wilson Says Aces Got 'Embarrassed' in Blowout Loss to Fever Without Caitlin Clark
The Las Vegas Aces suffered one of their biggest losses of the season last week when they fell to the Indiana Fever 81-54, despite Indiana being without star Caitlin Clark.
Aces star A'ja Wilson didn't sugar coat what happened in the loss, and she said her team learned from it. Las Vegas responded with an 86-68 win over the Connecticut Sun on Sunday.
"I mean, we got embarrassed against Indiana," Wilson said, per ESPN's Alexa Philippou. "We understood that we didn't want to go down that road anymore. We get tired of being in that space. So for this game, and hopefully moving forward, we find our joy in the game. And particularly the defensive end, we got stops. ... That's how we got rocking and rolling, and that's what we're going to have to continue to do."

In Thursday's loss to the Fever, Wilson dropped 29 points, but got very little from her teammates. The next leading scorer was Jackie Young, who had six points, and no other Ace had more than five.
It was a different story on Sunday as four different players were in double figures, including Wilson, who had 19.
But even with Sunday's win, the Aces still sit in eighth place in the WNBA standings 9-9. They'll look to use the dominant win to fuel them in the coming games.
