Stephon Gilmore Says He 'Still Can Contribute' in NFL, Eyes 'Right Place' for Contract
Free-agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore is focused on finding an NFL team that suits his skillset as the 2025 season draws closer.
"I want to play this year, it's just got to be the right situation," Gilmore said during a Thursday appearance on The Money Down podcast (h/t NFL.com's Bobby Kownack). "It's got to be the right situation for me. I'm not just gonna sign anywhere. … I still love the game. I still can contribute. It's just got to be the right place."
Gilmore spent the 2024 season with the Minnesota Vikings, starting in 15 games. He recorded 56 tackles, nine passes defensed and one interception during his lone year in Minnesota.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
He received an overall grade of 63.9 from Pro Football Focus for his efforts throughout his 2024 campaign, allowing a passer rating of 100.6 when targeted across 585 coverage snaps.
Gilmore is a former Defensive Player of the Year with five Pro Bowl nods and a championship under his belt, but his days of operating as one of the NFL's top cornerbacks are in the rearview mirror.
His last Pro Bowl appearance occurred in 2021 and he'll be turning 35 years old during the 2025 season.
Gilmore still generated some interest in free agency, with the Dallas Cowboys hosting him on a visit in April. He previously suited up for the Cowboys in 2023.
For teams searching for secondary depth heading into training camp, Gilmore remains available.
