Cena told the Associated Press his last match will be in "mid-December," but an official date and venue for the event have not yet been determined.

There has been a lot of speculation about when and where Cena's final match will be held.

James Stewart of 98.5 The Sports Hub reported in May that WWE was targeting Dec. 13 for Cena's last appearance, but the company wanted a $1.5 million financial commitment from potential host cities as part of a week-long takeover that would include the Undertaker one-man show on Dec. 11 and Friday Night SmackDown on Dec. 12.

John Cena's father, John Cena Sr., previously told Boston media outlet WCVB (h/t Josh Nason of F4WOnline.com) TD Garden in Boston will host the event.

A Dec. 13 date would presumably be a Saturday Night's Main Event on NBC. WWE hasn't confirmed any details about Cena's final match at this point.

Boston would make sense as the host city for Cena's WWE farewell. He was born in West Newbury, which is roughly 40 miles from Boston.

Cena is currently confirmed for eight television appearances through the Crown Jewel Perth show on Oct. 11. His next scheduled date is the July 18 episode of SmackDown, followed by seven dates in August that includes a WrestleMania rematch with Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam for the undisputed WWE title.

AJ Styles Reportedly Signs New WWE Deal

It appears as if AJ Styles will be staying in WWE for at least one more year.

Per Fightful Select (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), sources close to Styles claim he signed a one-year contract extension with WWE recently.

Neither WWE nor Styles has confirmed an extension. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported last September there was a belief that Styles' deal was set to expire sometime between the end of 2024 and early 2025.

The Phenomenal One may have had injury time added to his contract after suffering a Lisfranc injury in October. He didn't return until Feb. 1 as an entrant in the men's Royal Rumble.

Styles has been featured on television regularly since April, including losing to Logan Paul at WrestleMania. He has said his plan is to retire from wrestling before turning 50. He just turned 48 on June 2.

If Styles sticks to his plan and he recently signed a one-year extension, it could end up being the final contract of his storied career.

Jelly Roll Getting Extended Run in WWE

Having already been advertised for the July 11 episode of SmackDown, Jelly Roll is expected to make multiple appearances on WWE television leading up to SummerSlam.

Per WrestleVotes, several people within WWE are expecting Jelly Roll "will make additional appearances" in the future and his SmackDown debut will "be the start of something more."

Jelly Roll is currently in the midst of a world tour, but there is a break of nearly four weeks after his July 20 show in North Dakota before it picks back up on Aug. 15 in Montreal.

This would allow Jelly Roll to potentially appear at SummerSlam. The two-night event takes place on Aug. 2-3 at MetLife Stadium. There's also a potential storyline that could be done involving him and Cena.

Jelly Roll appeared alongside Awesome Truth at SummerSlam last year, delivering a chokeslam and Five Knuckle Shuffle to Austin Theory.

R-Truth, who is now going by Ron Killings, hasn't been seen on television since defeating Cena by disqualification on the June 20 episode of SmackDown.
